Dirty grills after the barbecue: clean them effectively using two simple, natural ingredients

There is something very special about grilled food: whether it's meat, fish or vegetables, having a barbecue outside is always a fun experience, especially if shared with other people. And what about the unique taste that grilled food has? As a result, barbecuing is a favorite pastime of many when the weather is good.

However, no matter the type of grill used, after each cooking session, they all present the same problem: the grill gets covered with grease and charred food bits. And if you don't clean this off immediately, removing it later can be a tough job. But fortunately, we can make use of two natural ingredients that greatly facilitates this task.

Just go to the pantry and get out the rock salt and the white vinegar (wine, alcohol, but also apple or rice vinegar are also fine to use). Also arm yourself with a sponge - perhaps one that has seen better days. You can also use steel wool sponges as most grills are very robust and resistant. You will also need a non-metallic bowl.

Pour a glass of vinegar and four tablespoons of rock salt into the bowl and mix a little. When you have obtained a sort of paste, you can spread it - with the help of the sponge - onto the dirty grill. Rub vigorously, covering the entire grill with this paste and leave to act for half an hour. After this time has passed, you can rinse the grill off with a sponge or cloth, and then dry. Your grill will now be almost as good as new!

For particularly stubborn dirt, repeat this operation. And if you can disassemble the grill into smaller parts, soak these in a basin full of hot  into which you have poured one or two glasses of vinegar (depending on the size of the grill), and leaving to soak for a couple of hours. This will dislodge even the most stubborn dirt and grease.
