For many of us, fragrance is part of our daily beauty routine: in addition to water, soap, creams, ointments and the right clothes, in fact, many people also use fragrances to feel their best when presenting themselves to others.

Indeed, olfaction is, along with touch, the first and oldest of our 5 senses, and for this reason it still plays a major role in our lives: it guides us in our choices, helps us remember events from our past, and is even involved in our social interactions. For this very reason, scents play a critically important role in our lives and are often associated with our emotions.

Once we have decided what our favorite fragrance is do we also know where we should spray it to make it last longer? We suggest below the 5 strategic points to remember the next time you wear your perfume.

Everyone has their own technique when it comes to spraying on perfume, but there are strategic areas that we need to remember if we want our fragrance to last longer. There are 5 strategic points that allow us a longer duration of the scent trail and they are pulsating areas, where the blood flow is greater and the skin therefore tends to be warmer, better enhancing the olfactory notes of the chosen fragrance:

  • neck and nape of the neck: this area is where one traditionally sprays perfume and, not surprisingly, is the ideal position to leave a trail as one passes through;
  • wrists: another area classically used; however, people usually make the mistake of rubbing them. This way the fragrance will be dispersed more easily, so be careful to avoid this gesture if you want to leave your mark with every movement of your hands;
  • neckline: the hollow between the breasts for women, the chest for men, are two perfect areas in which to apply perfume, because constant heat and breathing are the perfect combination of factors to make it last longer;
  • crook of the arms or knees: these are two other points that are usually very hot and therefore very suitable for lending themselves to the diffusion of our fragrance, especially when they are uncovered;
  • finally, for those with long hair, the hair can also be an excellent strategic point for diffusing one's fragrance. However, it is necessary to avoid using classic perfumes or eau de toilette, which are too rich in alcohol and could ruin our hair by drying it out; instead, prefer specific products, alcohol-free, to be sprayed even several times a day, avoiding the root and the scalp.

What is your favorite fragrance and where do you spray it?
