Fold up your blankets in a creative way

On sofas, armchairs and beds, a blanket is a must - especially during the coldest periods of the year to keep us warm. So, it is common that we have many blankets laying around and/or stuffed into cupboards and wardrobes.

Usually, we fold blankets up into squares or rectangles. And when we use them in the living room or bedroom, they are simply placed (or thrown!) over some piece of furniture. If we have a lot of blankets, they might be piled up in a basket somewhere in some room. So, why not fold them in a more aesthetically pleasing way? You can turn them into compact rolls, with a decorative fold to keep them together: they take up less space and will be more beautiful to look at too!

There are several ways to do this, but the method we bring you today is very simple and fast. In fact, a video from the sweet.moments.af Instagram account - which is dedicated to tips for the home - so shows how to do this.

The process is simple and is summarized below:

  • Spread the blanket on the bed so that it has no creases;
  • Fold it in half;
  • Take a corner at the top and bring it towards the center;
  • Now take the bottom corner, opposite (towards you), and bring it to the center, as if to cross. In this way you will lift one side of the blanket;
  • Then take the blanket and place it (without undoing the folds) in front of you, as if it were a vertical arrow pointing towards your body;
  • Take the upper tip and fold it downwards, but without reaching the lower one: it will have to reach about 3/4 of the blanket;
  • Now, you just have to roll it up from top to bottom;
  • Finally, insert the lower tip into the space that forms on the outside of the roll.

It sounds complicated, but just click here to see how fast and easy this process is.

All you need to do is follow the video, do a couple of tests and you'll be ready to tidy up your stack of blankets.
