No more expensive deodorants: discover how to use toothpaste to perfume your toilet

Having a perfumed bathroom is a pleasure for everyone, but the object that most jeopardizes this is the toilet. As a result, considerable amounts of money are spent to buy deodorants of all kinds to deodorise the toilet and perfume the bathroom.

But what about the idea of having the toilet spread a pleasant smell throughout bathroom after each use? To do this - and without having to buy special deodorants - you can also resort to a cheap, DIY tip using only a tube of toothpaste.

To show us how to do this, is a video on YouTube, edited by a woman on the JECA SVAŠTARICA channel. To follow her example, you will need a toothpast tube, scissors and a sturdy pin (or something sharp, like a nail).

The procedure is quite simple:

  • Cut off the two corners of the tube at the bottom;
  • Be very careful and use the pin or nail to make a series of small holes along the entire tube. They don't have to be too big or deep - just pierce the casing;
  • Apply a little pressure to start a little toothpaste to pop out;
  • Unscrew the cap, without removing it completely.

At this point, you just need to place the entire tube of toothpaste into the cistern. Gradually, the toothpaste will release its perfume into the water that is used each time the toilet is flushed. You can see all the steps in this procedure in the video (which also contains another useful toilet-perfuing tips)

An alternative to take advantage of the cistern is to occasionally pour a few drops of an essential oil of your choice into it! Sometimes, laundry softener is also recommended: the scented effect is undeniable, but softener is a viscous substance that does not dissolve very well in cold water and can risk causing blocking your pipes.
