There are many people who have a green thumb but don't have an outdoor area in which to demonstrate their skills. And there are also those who are not satisfied with just having plants on balconies and in the garden - they also want to fill the home with many different plants. Not only does this help make our home seem more welcoming and warm, but it can become a hobby that relaxes us and contributes to our well-being.

But what if there's no room for the potted houseplants that we dream of? Don't worry, you can create mini gardens - truly miniature green corners - in many different ways.

Just like miniature dioramas: old glasses can host small worlds if the right succulent plants are chosen.

And you can also do the same in mugs, teacups and similar.

Small cuttings, or perhaps seeds or seedlings, are perfect for small containers as well as tins. Always take care to ensure adequate drainage.

Succulent plants are the plants that best lend themselves to imaginative creations - even living paintings.

Would you ever have thought you'd see plants inside old pocket watches?

If, on the other hand, you want to create compositions to use as ornaments or centerpieces, then in addition to succulents, you can use bulbs and moss/lichen. Compose them, perhaps, on pieces of wood or bark, like shown here.

And you could also create mini water gardens in glass containers (which require more careful maintenance to avoid water stagnating).

But these miniature worlds in glass containers can be almost infinite in variety and container use (vases, jars, cake stands...etc). Terrariums (this is their formal name) are worlds to be discovered.

As for moss, it can also be grown on small, wooden trunks, and is very scenic.

If, on the other hand, you want to decorate a wall with plants, there are many ideas to pick from. Maybe vases fixed to wooden supports, like slats that form designs on the wall.

Or a series of pockets that cover the wall, usually perfect for holding aromatic plants.
