Many of us don't pay the same attention to hand care as we do to our body, face or hair. Maybe we remember to use suitable hand products only when our hands get itchy, or we see that the skin in particularly dry. And we don't always protect the skin of our hands when we do our household chores or gardening tasks.

However, you hands do deserve regular care and treatment with the right creams and lotions. At home, for example, you can help yourself by preparing completely natural products to rehydrate and soften your hands. Read on to find out more:

For example, honey can be used. In particular, it seems that the so-called "raw honey", i.e. unpasteurized honey, is even better than many more refined products because it contains a greater quantity of propolis and pollen - ingredients that we often find in skincare products.

Honey can be used by itself or mixed with other ingredients. In any case, however, it is always best to do a test on a small portion of your skin to check for any allergic reaction: if you do not notice any irritation, then it is very likely that you can use honey directly on your skin.

Wash your hands well, and then apply a small amount of honey on them - enough to massage over all the skin, rubbing gently. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse off any residue, without using soap.

Another useful ingredient for skin health is oats. Buy plain rolled oats (not the sugar-coated ones) and whenever you want, you can prepare a hand treatment using:

  • 100 grams of rolled oats
  • 50 ml of almond oil
  • 5 drops, if you wish, of an essential oil of your choice

After pulverizing the oats into a powder, fill a small bowl large enough to dip your hands into with hot water, dissolve in the oats powder, add the oils, and stir. Then soak your hands for 10 minutes and finally pat dry with a clean towel.

Oats can also be used with olive oil, in a very similar way to the method indicated above. Olive oil can also be mixed with a little shea butter. You will need 30 grams of shea for 30 ml of oil. You can also perfume this mixture with 3 to 5 drops of essential oil.

These are very simple and natural remedies, but we always advise that you check that you do not have allergic reactions to any of the ingredients of these DIY products before proceeding with application.
