Among the recommended measures to take care of marble, two seem particularly important to point out:

  • For stains and dirt that is difficult to remove, three natural ingredients are recommended: vinegar and salt with lemon. However, it is advisable to use these only occasionally, because otherwise they could corrode the marble.
  • A clever tip to keep stairs always perfectly shiny and without streaks is to pass a woolen cloth or old, unused socks over the surface often. Obviously, this must be done after dusting and washing and it seems to be incredibly effective.

There is also an eco-friend way to create an excellent detergent at home which can clean marble. It is a product that guarantees splendid results and can be easily prepared and stored for use when needed:

  • Mix 6 tablespoons of baking soda with half a bar of Marseille soap (or equivalent in flakes), dissolved in a bain-marie. Mix well, until it forms a smooth cream without lumps;
  • Dilute the mixture in a liter of water;
  • After mixing, add a few drops of an essential oil of the fragrance you like;
  • Your product is now ready to be stored in a bottle and used when needed. You can use half a cap to dilute in a bucket of water every time you wash the stairs. The perfect ally for this operation is a microfiber cloth to wash and dry off with.
