There are occasions when a nice ice cream is just what the doctor ordered. Who amongst us hasn't enjoyed a sweet treat at the end of a meal - even in the middle of winter - of a little ice cream? Not to mention those times when only a tub of ice cream can give us the necessary comfort when we are spending a relaxing evening on the sofa, watching our favorite movie or TV series.

Usually, we don't think twice about throwing away the empty jars and tubs that ice cream comes in. But we can keep these and recycle them creatively. Check out the ideas listed below:

Plastic trays, especially if they are large and deep, are ideal for recycling. Sometimes, the plastic is colored, and then it is sufficient to cover the outside with paper, leaving the edges the original color, to obtain a useful container.

Obviously, they also lend themselves to being decorated using the decoupage technique. And there is no shortage of ideas to also equip them with comfortable handles, becoming useful baskets.

Another model that can be copied is that of traditional picnic baskets, with the classic handle in the center.

Handles made with pearls, fabric and lace coverings: a project comes to life in ever-changing ways depending on the materials and tastes.

And why not take advantage of their lids too? A lid can be equipped with a useful knob and can be used almost everywhere as a storage compartment in the house.

A popular idea is to make sewing boxes out of them.

Maybe with pockets on the outside or many useful compartments inside.

And there are also some ideas for cardboard ice cream tubs, when they are not damaged by kids: if cleaned properly, they can be used as containers for biscuits and various other delicacies.

Not just fabric and paper: consider lining a basket made with an ice cream tub using foam rubber.

And if you are skilled in sewing, larger ice cream tubs will become useful and super-decorative objects!
