These objects are called rattles, wind chimes or wind bells. They are decorative objects that resonate softly, moved by the wind. They are usually very colorful and give off a cheerfulness and positive vibration to the environments in which they are placed. For some cultures, they even represent good luck charms.

Probably anyone has had one, at least once, in their home. And they can even be made by creatively recycling various types of objects and materials. We want to show you how simple this is, with a few ideas and some useful tips.

This wind chime, for example, can be made with just a small vintage lampshade, some inexpensive beaded necklaces and old silver spoons with holes drilled into the end of their handles.

To make this, first of all remove the fabric from the lampshade, in order to obtain the metal framework that will give the shape to your wind chime. Then, divide the necklaces up into the number of strands you need to decorate the lampshade frame. You need to attach them at the top and downward along the frame. Then, you need to connect as many as you can to the base, leaving them hanging. Then, at the end of the strands, attach the spoons.

For this task, you will need wire cutters, pliers, metal wire and small, closeable rings. Before attaching the spoons to the stands, keep in mind that for a more pleasant and clearer sound, you can consider flattening out their curves. Choose the colors you like best and, once the work is finished, the result will be amazing. Find out more info in a tutorial by clicking here.

Again using beads, along with discs of recycled and melted plastic, you can create this wonderful wind chime.

Meanwhile, using only with spoons or other cutlery (obviously, old ones you no longer use), you will be able to make a chime like this.

And then there is the great classic of using recycled metal bottle caps to make a cheerful-looking (and sounding) wind chime.

In short, there are so many ideas and ways to create these wind chimes. You just need to start creating your very own model.
